Sou Akou
Ink painter
Sou Akou draws on the painting traditions of China and Japan. Through the depth of ink, layers of colour and changing light, he gives form to Mount Fuji, cherry blossoms and the natural world.
Born in Jilin, China, in 1960, Sou Akou came to Japan in 1988. In 1990 he founded the Sou Akou Chinese Ink Painting Society, renamed the Sou Akou Ink Art Academy in 2003.
